The Choice of a New Generation

By Tiffany Stochel, Real Estate Business Magazine, November/December 2008

The changing face of the U.S. consumer is younger and more diverse

Maximizing the "melting pot"

In just a few short decades, our nation will have made a change that will blur the distinction between "majority" and "minority."

According to recent projections released by the U.S. Census Bureau, minorities are expected to become the majority in 2042, with the nation projected to be 54% minority by 2050. This means the "minority" population — everyone except non-Hispanic, single-race whites — is projected to rise significantly, while the non-Hispanic, single-race white population is projected to actually lose population in the 2030s and 2040s.

The numbers not only indicate a nation more racially and ethnically diverse — but also older.

I was thrilled with the coursework and began implementing ideas immediately! I was so devoted that I became a CRB instructor in 1989. The resources, networking opportunities, and coursework applications have made the CRB Council my SOURCE.
