Ebby Halliday, living legend and first recipient of the prestigious CRB Hall of Leaders Award, continues, seven years later, to impact and shape the real estate industry, both locally and nationally. This would be impressive for anyone, but since Halliday is 96 and still going strong, it is truly inspiring. This entrepreneurial dynamo has barely slowed down since she began her real estate career in 1945, when she stepped boldly into a male-dominated industry to create Ebby Halliday REALTORS®, now the leading company in her market and one of the foremost and best-known privately owned residential real estate firms in the United States.

Raised in Leslie, Kan., during the Depression, Halliday lived with her grandfather, an old circuit riding Baptist preacher, after her father died. "We learned to tell the truth, be kind and go to church," Halliday says. "My mother remarried and we moved to a wheat farm in Kansas. My mother was my mentor."

The CRB courses have changed how we analyze our books, agents and long-term retirement plans. They allowed us to pull ourselves out of potential financial ruin and create systems that even my tax accountant has been impressed by.
